he marula tree is a native of the Southern African forests. Its round, yellow, plum like fruits contain a stone whose seeds produce marula oil (used as a food and as a body lotion). The flesh (which is popular as a basis for beer) also yields a fine jelly, not unlike redcurrant jelly.
